Crafting Christmas decorations: A homemade Christmas tree as a tree decoration

Would you like an original DIY Christmas decoration idea? This cute Christmas tree ornament is just the thing! With just a few materials, you can make an enchanting Christmas tree decoration in around 10 minutes. All you need is cardboard, two different colored thin cords, beads and a hot glue gun.

This craft is also ideal as a joint project with children aged 9-10 and up. Of course, you need to be careful with the hot glue gun - the tip gets very hot. But this is a very individual decision. My son, for example, already used a 3D pen at the age of 7, which works on the same principle. He is now 11 and has his own little hot glue gun, which he uses under supervision. However, every parent should assess this for themselves.

Making Christmas decorations: A shining star for the Christmas tree

These Christmas decorations crafting instructions show you how to create a beautiful star for your Christmas tree. The principle is similar to the Christmas tree: first cut out a star template from cardboard. Then wrap it with cord and fix it with hot glue. Alternatively, you can also use superglue, but be particularly careful - sticky fingers are more unpleasant than small burns!

Once you have completely wrapped the star, you can decorate the tips with paint and attach beads to the points. Finally, attach a small loop for hanging.

Making Christmas decorations: Create your own magical Christmas tree baubles

For this Christmas decoration craft idea, we use a ball as the basic shape instead of a cardboard template. You can use a table tennis ball or anything else you can find. Be creative - even crumpled up toilet paper wrapped in thin adhesive tape can serve as the base! The principle remains the same as with our previous projects. Use hot glue, cord, paint and various decorative elements such as ribbons and beads to create unique Christmas baubles.

Christmas decorations don't just include tree decorations. When your loved ones arrive for the festive meal, you'll all be sitting at a decorated table. In this video, we show you how to create magical napkin rings using a napkin, a ring, a pine cone and a few beads. These festive rings will transform your Christmas table into something very special.

Christmas decoration craft: Enchanting paper angels for the Christmas tree

As I mentioned in the introduction, Christmas is above all a celebration for the family and especially for the children. In our family, my wife and I try to make the festive season magical for our children first and foremost. As long as they are small and believe in the magic of Christmas, we will celebrate this special time with them. As the saying goes: "Anticipation is the greatest joy". That's why we not only have an Advent calendar at home, but also decorate the tree together, decorate our home and make simple but beautiful Christmas decorations.

This angel is a perfect example of a simple but enchanting decoration. You only need a few materials: paper, scissors, small beads or Christmas baubles and hot glue. Watch the video to see how easy it is to make these angels.
