Our content helps people move forward. At least we can hope so. Or we ask specifically whether this is really the case. Our long-standing member Anja Galgon provided answers and confirmed this: TutKit.com provides the right tutorials, assets and templates, especially for marketing departments.
Can you introduce yourself to our readers, who you are and what you do when you're not answering interview questions for us?
My name is Anja Galgon, I work at Friedhelm Selbach GmbH in the marketing department and I am responsible for everything to do with advertising/sales promotion, i.e. layout and production of printed materials such as catalogs, brochures, data sheets, trade fair stand design and preparations for trade fairs, advertising planning and design, purchasing and design of advertising materials, creation and maintenance of website and web store and newsletter design and transmission to our customers.
You have been a member of TutKit.com for over five years now. What prompted you to register with us?
At the time, I switched from CorelDRAW to the Adobe products InDesign and Photoshop for graphic design or worked with them in parallel. As I wasn't familiar with this software at all, I looked for training material and found it at PSD-Tutorials.de (editor's note: our forum for design, photography and image editing). At first I worked with training CDs. Then a TutKit.com employee approached me and introduced me to the concept.
At first I was skeptical as to whether I would find enough time to deal with the content (there is a lot of it). After all, it always takes place alongside my actual work. But in the end I decided to do a trial year and I'm still involved today. In the meantime, I still work with Dreamweaver and Illustrator. I've had a quick look at the other products. Of course, TutKit.com also helps here. I also work with normal Office programs such as Excel and Word. You can always learn something new there too. And TutKit.com also provides assistance here.
How specifically were our tutorials able to help?
I acquired my knowledge almost single-handedly with the tutorials from TutKit.com. Above all, I learned the basic basics of the various Adobe programs with TutKit.com and the tutorials available there. Later on, you look for certain content that you need at work, but you're not really getting anywhere. The tutorials help here too, as do the templates and presets. When I design Christmas greetings for our customers, I love the pictures and the "Christmas" brushes on TutKit.com.

Marketing department at Friedhelm Selbach GmbHIn our interview request, you wrote to me that you are currently designing job advertisements - with the help of the new training course on designing banners in Photoshop from our trainer Stefan Riedl. How satisfied are you with the training?
Stefan is great! His tutorials are understandable, detailed and instructive. And he's always in a good mood and jokes around. You can just tell that he enjoys his work. I also think it's great that he shares his knowledge so freely with all of us. I always follow his tutorials on my PC. That's the best way for me to learn. I then write down important tips and tricks so that I can refer back to them later in my work.
Do you also use our templates (such as presentation layouts) and assets (such as textures, illustrations or brushes)?
Yes, I use these too, but I use them more as inspiration to design my own things.
How specifically have you been able to use our content in your company?
For example, when I create brochures in InDesign, I look at the tutorials on InDesign (certain content from them) or take a look at the templates to get inspiration. I then use Photoshop to find the content I need for editing our product images. And for the development of our website, I need the information about Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and so on.
I always do his tutorials at the same time. That's the best way for me to learn. I then write down important tips and tricks so that I can refer to them later in my work.

Marketing department at Friedhelm Selbach GmbHYou work in marketing for your industrial company, which manufactures bottling systems that everyone has seen in a hotel or restaurant. Would you recommend TutKit.com to marketers in other industries? How does every single user benefit from our content?
We make dispensing systems ;-). You won't just find these in hotels and restaurants, but also a lot in the outdoor sector (our quick taps are used at the Oktoberfest or the Wacken Festival, for example) or in cinemas.
I would recommend TutKit.com to all colleagues who do any kind of graphic or artistic design work. Since TutKit.com is strong in all areas and always provides a lot of new content, everyone will find something to learn there.
What learning goals do you have for the future? How can we, as an e-learning portal, best support the challenges of companies like yours? Is there any content that you would like us to include in our planning?
I have already contacted your team several times about this and have always been met with an open ear. I am particularly interested in the design of websites. I would like to learn more about how to design them in a modern and appealing way (for example, writing small scripts with JavaScript and improving usability for the user). Of course also with regard to responsive websites. I "devoured" the tutorial on form creation by Pascal Bajorat and I was able to get so many useful hints and tips for our website there. In general, I love continuing my education, always learning new things and, above all, being able to do a lot myself. I would also be happy to learn something new about InDesign and Photoshop (like Stefan Riedl's recent tutorial on banners and ads).
The economic climate is currently becoming a little more uncomfortable again and company insolvencies are also on the rise. In your opinion, what role do digital skills play for applicants in upcoming application processes?
I think the digital world of work will continue to grow. What don't people do digitally now? It plays a big role in marketing in particular. I remember when I started my apprenticeship (many, many years ago ;-)), we were one of the first in the marketing department to have a PC. And my first graphics program (CorelDRAW). And the marketing department is now a pioneer in the digital age. So to answer your question: a big one!
What final tip do you have for our readers?
Always stay open to new things and always be willing to learn. It keeps you young and fit, and it makes work a lot of fun. Incidentally, I am very grateful to my current company for allowing me to "live it up" here. That's certainly not a given.

About Friedhelm Selbach GmbH
Friedhelm Selbach GmbH develops and produces beverage dispensing systems (for beer, soft drinks, juice, table water, wine) and cooling systems for liquid media in Radevormwald (NRW). During the pandemic, we also developed and produced a hygiene dispenser. The company employs 70 people and operates nationally and internationally. SELBACH is particularly well known for its hot beverage dispensers. These are machines that heat mulled wine or cocoa, for example, and with which the hot drinks can then be tapped quickly and easily. SELBACH dispensing systems can be found everywhere at Christmas markets.
