As you can see in the video above, folding a cube from a dollar bill is not that difficult. We made the video ourselves and also took all the photos for the following instructions ourselves. So you can follow every step exactly.

Tip: If you don't have any experience with folding banknotes, practise beforehand. Cut paper to the size of a banknote or get some play money to practise with. As with origami, take your time and work carefully.

Folding a cube from a dollar bill: Step-by-step instructions with photos. Image 1 — **Step 1:** First fold two lines that divide the bill into three equal parts. Then fold the two edges inwards as shown in the photo.

Fold dice from a dollar bill: Step-by-step guide with photos. Picture 2 — **Step 2:** Now fold the bill like an accordion. The side length is determined by the folded corner - i.e. one third of the width of the bill. This is very important! Then mark the sides of the cube by folding them.

A big advantage is that the bill doesn't get damaged during folding. If you fold several cubes for a gift and later need them as normal money, that's no problem.
