🛩️ Paper Jet: Step-by-Step Guide with Photos

For this jet, you only need a rectangular sheet of paper. Regular printer paper works best (e.g., 21 x 29.7 cm). The folding technique is a bit more demanding than that of a classic airplane, but you got this!

📦 You need:

  • 1 sheet of printer paper
  • A ruler (optional for tracing)
  • Patience – for a true world champion model!

Step 1: Start by folding the sheet at a 45-degree angle. Then measure two points from the corner with a ruler. One point is 5 cm away from the corner, the second is 15 cm. Then draw a line between them and fold the paper along this line.

Step 2: After that, make folds all around. Your goal is to create a compact, arrow-shaped, and sturdy paper airplane.

Step 3: Finally, shape the wings. To prevent the airplane from unfolding, I used glue to secure the paper. I glued the last layer of paper at the tip of the airplane.

Step 4: I will try to explain it. The physics still applies. There are two ways to make your airplane glide. The first is to utilize the wing area and lift. The second method is to use the force of your arm to throw the airplane as far forward as possible. To reduce air resistance, we designed our airplane to be arrow-shaped and compact, like a bullet.

🧠 Origami trains concentration & fine motor skills

Even though this airplane doesn't look like classic origami – the folding itself strengthens concentration, dexterity, and spatial thinking. Especially for children, it's a great way to learn playfully while proudly building their own model. And hey – adults have just as much fun while crafting!

This jet is sleek, fast, and has an incredible flight distance. With the right technique, it flies better than many classic paper airplanes – perfect for little competitions at home or on the playground. Kids love to test which airplane flies the farthest – and this one has real potential for records.
