Simple paper airplane – quickly folded & flies well

Sometimes it just takes a piece of paper to bring a smile to your face - especially with children. This Papierflieger is a classic: quickly made, elegant in shape, and with surprisingly good flying characteristics. Its slim and pointed nose allows it to glide particularly far - perfect for small competitions at home or outside in the park.

We folded, tested, and documented this flyer ourselves with photos. As always, you'll find a pictorial guide with clear descriptions so you can easily follow each step.

Instructions: How to fold the paper airplane step by step

For this paper airplane, you only need a single sheet of paper. The best choice is lightweight but sturdy printer paper in DIN A4 format.

📦 Material:

1 sheet of paper (DIN A4)
possibly a ruler to smooth out the folds
a flat surface to work on

With just a few folds, a long, aerodynamic shape with clear lines is created. The wings can be easily bent up or down – this allows for good control of the flight path later on.

Instructions: This is how you fold the paper airplane step by step. Picture 1 — Step 1: As with most paper airplanes, you start by folding the two upper corners towards the center to form a pointed nose.
