- Networking
In marketing, networking refers to the development and maintenance of professional and personal contacts. The more your own network expands, the more opportunities there are to benefit from it for business and to use the contacts successfully.
- Nielsen areas
Nielsen areas play an important role in the field of market studies. These are the breakdown of regions in Germany and Austria that differ in terms of purchasing power and consumer behavior, for example. The data obtained helps to introduce certain products or services in the respective region on the basis of the corresponding geographical characteristics or to launch more targeted advertising campaigns. The term "Nielsen regions" goes back to the market research company The Nielsen Company, which has carried out its own market studies on the basis of such a regional breakdown.
- Niche/niche market
The term niche market - or market niche - describes a small sub-segment of the large overall market. This sub-segment offers the opportunity to provide customers with an offer that competitors do not yet offer or only offer to a limited extent. For example, it may be a completely new product or a modification of an existing offering that arouses the interest of the target group by offering additional benefits. If a company discovers such a niche market, it can secure new or additional market potential.
- nofollow tags
The nofollow tags - or nofollow attributes - are used in HTML code to instruct search engines not to follow certain links on external websites and not to include them in the calculation of link popularity. Webmasters can therefore use the nofollow tag to devalue certain links. It was introduced by Google in 2005 to control the flood of backlinks that used to be used to systematically push websites for better search results.
- User
A user is generally defined as the user of an electronic device such as a computer or smartphone. This is always a real person. A user can be someone who uses the internet and, for example, visits websites or uses a specific app. It can also be a person who is part of an Internet community.
