Our Photoshop templates often contain images that serve as examples for illustrative purposes and that you can replace with your own images. Here we show you how to insert images or replace existing ones in Photoshop:

  1. Select the layer with the image you want to replace. For Smart Objects, double-click on the Smart Object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  2. Click on Place and embed... in the File menu.
  3. Select the image you want on your computer and click on Place.
  4. Position your image in the design and confirm with the Enter key.

Applying images to clipping masks

The images in our templates are often in prepared clipping masks so that they are displayed on a predefined area. To apply your image to a clipping mask, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the layer with your image.
  2. Hold down the Alt key. Move the mouse pointer into the area between the layer with the image and the clipping mask below it. When an icon with a white square and a black arrow pointing downwards appears, click once. This will apply the clipping mask to your image. Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+G.

You have the following options to change the section of your image:

  1. You can use the Move tool to move your image within the clipping mask.
  2. You can transform the image using Ctrl+T or Cmd+T.
