Increase your chances of success!
Are you planning for the future, toying with the idea or already on the threshold of self-employment? It's a big step, but it doesn't have to be a risky one. In this PDF tutorial, you will learn how to recognize and overcome the pitfalls, prepare yourself for the sometimes annoying but necessary bureaucracy and finally position yourself on the market! Minimize risk, increase chances of success! How to get started.
The tutorial contains a total of ten illustrated lessons with over 190 PDF pages. Your trainer Jens Brüggemann guides you step by step through the stages you need to consider - in plain language, because you will encounter this again and again in your self-employment:
First, you will be tested yourself: What is your idea of the "profession of photographer"? Does it correspond more to a blissful cliché or do you already know the reality? Is your character suitable for self-employment? Are you a doer? Or a doubter? And finally, what is your starting point? Whether internship or assistant, apprenticeship or studies, photography school or a hobby - many paths are possible, from direct to lateral entry - and you have to follow your own personal path!
The following chapters deal with the practical side of things: the photo studio as the center of your work can either belong to you or be rented by you. Pay attention to the contracts you enter into, find a suitable location and think carefully about a possible studio community. Particularly important: Don't just be a photographer, but be clear about how you position yourself and what goals you are explicitly pursuing. How to generate orders through suitable advertising measures is also explained in detail.
Finally, the tutorial also focuses on the bureaucratic aspects that will shape your life as a self-employed person to a not inconsiderable extent (note: as of 25.05.2018, the GDPR information has not been taken into account): Tax office, business registration office, quotation and invoicing, social security, employers' liability insurance association, VAT, income tax ... The list of non-photography to-dos is huge, but quite manageable if you know where to do what and how. So you can concentrate on taking photos and do the other things on the side, so to speak.
What will you gain from this course?
Firstly, you will get an overview of all the aspects that need to be considered when starting your own business. And secondly, you will receive detailed tips and advice on every aspect from a professional photographer who has already successfully followed this path. This will minimize the risk of failure and increase your chances of success in order to make a financial breakthrough with your craft.
