There are also a few tips on the subject of navigation that may help. The main tip, which is probably the one that helps the quickest, is quickly explained.

Imagine you have this geometry here, i.e. this island, ...

... but you have another construction site somewhere else that you are working on. And then you look for your island again. What do you do? You zoom out, zoom in again, you turn around, you don't find anything ... you don't have to.

You simply click on the island, i.e. this landscape object,...

... then you get this little blue arrow. Firstly, it shows you in which direction the island is located, and secondly, ...

... if you click on it, you'll be back there immediately.

So that's the quickest story that works really well, and I'm glad that it's been in there since R13.

But it could be that you're working with an older version and don't have it yet. Then you have other options, for example you can also say: View>Standard view.

Finding lost objects

This is the standard view that you also get when you open a new, empty file.

Or it could also be - you are working here and find the standard view, but unfortunately the object cannot be found in the standard view at all, because it is located here - far outside the center, very far away.

So that you can't see it at all. You don't have the blue arrow either. Then there's another option: First click on the object you need, then go to View and here Zoom to Geometry - then you'll have it again.

Finding lost objects

Let's go one step further: You may also want to have the landscape, this object and also the ground. This is also important somewhere, at least the center of the ground object.

Then you have the option of zooming in on everything so that you can see everything.

Finding lost objects

And if it's only about the geometry, i.e. only about seeing the geometric components of your scene, regardless of whether these are parametric basic objects or already finished polygon objects, then there's another option. So imagine you still have a few objects here - maybe they still play a role here (1) and we put a copy of them there (2), then the option Zoom to geometry (3) is certainly the most useful.

Finding lost objects

Because then you zoom in on the center of gravity of these three geometric objects, so to speak, and you have all three in view.

So, there's definitely something here, I would say. You can definitely use one of these commands here. And if you're working with an R13 or an R14 or an even higher one, which will certainly come at some point, then you can simply click on the blue arrow and you'll be back where you want to be.
