There is a whole range of technical aspects that are a prerequisite for good rankings and all related measures. It is important to know these, even if some of them can only be implemented correctly by a developer. They are primarily related to ensuring that websites are easily crawlable by the search engine and easy to use for users.

Here is a small excerpt of what this primarily involves:

  • Crawlability of the pages
  • a sensible navigation structure so that users can access the content quickly
  • Speaking URLs that also contain the categories + never change if possible
  • Avoidance of duplicate content (generated by the system, for example by search results and also pages that can be accessed with and without "www")
  • Avoid 404 and 302 error pages
  • Avoid internal no-follow links
  • A balanced ratio of text to links
  • Integrate XML sitemap for Google
  • Trustworthiness with https protocol (via SSL certification with forwarding of http to https)
  • mobile optimization
  • Pagespeed: fast website speed

You will not check all of these technical requirements manually yourself, but will rely on testing tools. Later, I will show you how we proceed with the SEOBILITY software. Here you can see a screenshot of how errors are listed according to these technical, structural or content-related aspects.
